Join us for the 10th anniversary year of GEMS+ Summer Camp!
GEMS stands for "Girls Engaged in Math and Science" and was designed in 2016 with the purpose of exposing female middle school students to STEAM practices and careers in science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math. In addition to camp activities, female guest speakers in STEAM careers will meet with and engage student participants with activities related to their fields.
In 2018, GEMS was changed to GEMS+ to incorporate social activism, civic engagement, and social-emotional learning into the mix! Each year, GEMS+ partners with a local non-profit organization and the programming is centered around issues and topics that the non-profit focuses on. In the past, GEMS+ has partnered with Friends Forever Animal Rescue, RISE, Ophelia's Place, and more! Stay tuned for more information on this year's partner!
The programming for GEMS+ is designed by a local certified science teacher and a certified media specialist that both work at the Baldwinsville Central School District.
